Q. What is Medi-Share?
A. The Medi-Share program brings Christians together to share medical bills. Christian Care Ministry is a not-for-profit sharing ministry that facilitates the Medi-Share program. Medi-Share is a non-insurance healthcare program based on biblical principles. Medi-Share is not insurance. Christian Care Ministry does not pay any medical bills. Instead, Medi-Share participants share their medical bills and Medi-Share facilitates processing those payments.
Q. How does Medi-Share work for participants?
A. Medi-Share 1.0 participants have chosen an IPR--an initial participant responsibility level of either 250, 1,000 or 10,000. This is the amount that a participant must pay of each incident that exceeds that amount. For instance, a participant on the 1,000 program who has a $3,500 procedure is responsible for the first $1,000. The balance is submitted for sharing. Providers should submit all bills to Christian Care Ministry for discounting and processing, regardless of whether the IPR has been met, and then bill the participant for the balance reflected on the Explanation of Sharing (EOS) that will be sent out once processing/discounting is complete.
Q. Where do we send medical bills?
A. Providers should send bills to:

Q. Do Medi-Share participants use a PPO?

Q. Can Medi-Share participants seek treatment outside of the PPO?
A. Yes. Participants may choose treatment with a non-PHCS provider, however, a penalty may be applied for use of a non-PPO provider. To verify your participation with a PPO, contact www.phcs.com (or call 877-302-7427).

Q. How does Medi-Share work for participants?
A. Medi-Share 2.0 participants have chosen an Annual Household Portion (AHP). This is the amount that a Medi-Share houshold must reach (pay) before their eligible medical bills can be submitted for sharing. For instance, if a Medi-Share household with a 1250 AHP, once their out of pocket for the entire family reaches that amount, eligible medical bills are submitted for sharing. Medi-Share 2.0 participants pay a $35 provider fee for doctors and hospitalizations, and a $135 provider fee for emergency room care.
Providers should pre-notify of treatment using the information on the Medi-Share ID card. Providers should submit all bills to Christian Care Ministry for discounting and processing, regardless of whether the AHP has been met, and then bill the participant for the balance reflected on the Explanation of Sharing (EOS) that will be sent out once processing/discounting is complete.
