ANNUAL REPORTS

By Scott Reddig, CEO

With my first year as CEO of Christian Care Ministry under my belt, I entered 2020 hopeful and encouraged. We were half way through Fiscal Year 20 and making incredible progress towards strengthening our financial foundation. We continued to refine our Medi-Share offering to provide more services, like free mental health counseling, while maintaining the value that our members appreciate. Internally, we focused on process improvements to maximize our efficiencies and cost containment efforts to save our members’ dollars, and a lot of care went into our employee culture. We filled many key leadership positions and were awarded the “Great Place to Work” designation. We were on a roll!

Then COVID.
In mid-March, we rapidly responded to the crisis by sending all of our employees home to work remotely. Within two days, we were a fully-functioning remote workplace and I’m proud to report that our employees have maintained a high level of productivity and service to the members ever since. As we got our employees situated, we looked to see how we could help our members. We implemented weekly prayer services, provided reassurance and guidance from our Medical Director Dr. Greene, encouraged the use of our free telehealth service, and, if COVID testing was recommended by the telehealth provider, shared in provider fees for COVID testing without applying the AHP. We also asked you, the members, to vote to expand sharing of virtual doctor visits to accommodate member needs for social distancing, and you approved. Most importantly, we remained fully operational, continuing to process bills, answer phones, and facilitate sharing among our members. Many prayers were offered as we navigated the unknown.

But GOD.
We all have seen the devastating impact of this virus on our families, our friends and neighbors, our jobs, and our economy. At the ministry, we saw our share of sickness among employees, grieved with members who lost loved ones, and prayed for those who were suffering physically, mentally, or financially. But through it all, God was faithful. We thank Him for protecting our ministry, members, and employees and look forward to the plans He has for us.

We recently announced the results of our extensive, yearlong strategic planning process. You’ll read about our new Vision and Mission, and we’ll fill you in on the core values that we have adopted for our employees. We’ll introduce you to our new National Outreach program and partners, and tell you about how we are working with the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries to protect the rights of our members. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about your ministry. We appreciate your commitment to the sharing community and we consider it an honor to serve you.
